| Customer Reviews:
A good cost estimating overview - but lacking in analysis of productivity and profit analysis. September 11, 2008 J. F. Mccarthy (Chicago, IL USA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
The chapters, which roughly correspond to the CSI format, was a good structure. The coverage of each of the topics was competent and understandable.
Lacking was analysis of labor productivity which is usually the largest cost determinant for most line items. The discussion of profit caluclation was divorced from the real world - the actual calculation method is as detailed as calculation as any other line item.
Some discusion of conceptual or rough order of magnitude estmating would have been helpful. This skill is used to determine if a project is worth bidding, so must be discussed a little.Choosing Project Success - A Guide for Building Professionals
