Not a how-to, it is a guide of how you need to think about ... December 25, 2008 Milton Riutort (Adjuntas, PR USA) The book present a different point of view than others that I have here to compare. This one help you "re-think" why small house fit your necessities, with simple design, space and materials. The book is not full read yet, but the few chapter all ready read, really represent this. If you are interest on green, alternative material house construction, I recommend read this book to find a new way of thinking and maybe, living, your new small, green and efficient new house.
Great ideas and well written October 9, 2008 Matthew Whiting (Provo, UT United States) This book really hit home. In Fall 2008 the wisdom of small homes is really becoming clear with our present mass economic crunch in the US. Take this book to heart and start living it. -Matt Whiting Provo, UT
Absolutely wonderful!! August 17, 2008 N. Caudill (Fresno, CA) This book is really great! Very enlightening. Only sorry I didn't purchase it a lot earlier!
Funky book July 30, 2008 BRGrits (Los Angeles, CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Although most of the homes in this book take "simple," "cozy" and "energy efficient" to the extreme, I find it inspiring in terms of what's possible. I wish the photos (most are clumped together in the middle of the book) were printed alongside the story of the home they represent. It's confusing and frustrating trying to match the pictures with the correct home.
But I appreciate the imagination of the people featured in the book. If you have an interest in real-life examples of energy efficient living, this one's worth the purchase price.
