Fun to leaf through, but no index May 31, 2006

I saw this book at Book Expo America and was thumbing through it. It is exhaustive and will be very useful to anyone who wants to look up how to make a particular drink (because the drinks are listed in alphabetical order). The book's web site has a number of testimonials from bartenders who swear by it. I had a great time flipping through it. However, the first thing I thought of was, "What if I have some rum sitting around and want to get ideas for drinks with rum in them?" There's no index in the book. I commented on that to the author, who said it would make the book too big. (It is really quite large already.) I said, "Put the index online, then." He said that was a good idea, so let's wait and see...
