Product Description They were the heaviest band ever, creating the blueprint for an entire musical genre and becoming a touchstone for an entire generation and their children. Now, to celebrate their fortieth anniversary and December 2007 reunion, here's the first-ever complete illustrated history of Led Zeppelin. This all-star tribute to one of the biggest rock 'n' roll bands of all time features many of today's top American and English rock journalists from Rolling Stone, Creem, Billboard and more, as well as reflections on the band's inspiration from some of rock's top performers, including Aerosmith, Heart, the Minutemen, the Hold Steady, and others. An appendix features the complete discography. Glorious concert and behind-the-scenes photography from some of the top names in rock photography covers the band from their first 1968 show as Led Zeppelin through the 2007 reunion. Also included are more than 200 rare concert posters, backstage passes, tickets, LPs and singles, T-shirts, buttons, and more from the United States, UK, Canada, Germany, France, and Japan, all comprising a book as epic as the band it honors. Created from the ashes of the Yardbirds by guitarist and session wizard Jimmy Page, Led Zeppelin featured virtuoso bass player John Paul Jones, gonzo drummer John Bonham, and Robert Plant, a vocalist like no other before him. The band singlehandedly defined what rock 'n' roll could be, leaving in their wake a trail of tales as tall or as a real as we wanted them to be.

Great read for every Zeppelin fan December 31, 2008 A. Zamorano (San Antonio, TX, USA) This book has various interviews, photos, and general information on Zeppelin. It also spans from pre-Zeppelin up to their recent reunion in '07. My favorite part was getting to see all the cool photos. Really fun book to read through. If you're a Zeppelin fan you can't go wrong with this book.
Whole Lotta Led Zeppelin December 30, 2008 R. Schnell (USA) As prior reviews have stated this is a superb hardback book with over 200 pages of rare photographs and articles that chronicles the history of this great band from how they were formed through the recent reunion concert in London. This book also contains wonderful pictures of many collectable items including concert tickets, posters, back stage passes, promtional releases, magazine covers, etc....if you collect any of these items you will probably see many of them in this book - that is how complete it is! The book follows the history of the band in chronological order from 1968 to the present - simply outstanding. It includes a complete discography listing of all songs published on LP, 45, CD and DVD. If you like this band and have collected items over the years this is simply a must have.
"Where's that confounded bridge?" December 21, 2008 Sheila (Minneapolis) "Where's that confounded bridge?" The bridge to Led Zeppelin (as well as the "Stairway to Heaven") has been seized by author Jon Bream and his regiment of superstar commentators within the pages of "Whole Lotta Led Zeppelin: The Illustrated History of the Heaviest Band of All Time." You don't have to be a Zep fanatic to have this gorgeous 288-page book on your coffee table. And with page after page of vibrant color photos of the band, extensive memorabilia, and more visual shrapnel than the Hindenburg fallout, this book will capture the eyes and minds of even the most reluctant reader. A "Physical Graffiti" status symbol for the upwardly social and a sweet, "Dazed and Confused" elixir for the insatiable music junkie!
The title says it all! November 12, 2008 Tony Stengel (Hollywood, USA) 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
There is so much Zeppelin stuff out there, as well there should be, but this is a great book. Large, great pics, all good! Led Zeppelin is the greatest band ever. That is not an opinion, that is a fact. They changed the industry. They changed promotion, live shows, merchandising and influenced every great band that came after them. Will your favorite band still be talked about and listened to in 100 years from now? Led Zeppelin will be!
So incredible, you'll have trouble putting it down September 25, 2008 Dusty Punch (McKinley, WI USA) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I wasn't fortunate enough to be able to see Led Zeppelin live (fingers crossed about the rumored reunion tour), but this book brought me about as close as I could've hoped. It has Zeppelin covererd from A to Z, whether you're looking for photos and memorabilia of the band, tour-by-tour or album-by-album coverage, or stories about how Page, Plant, Jones, and Bonham inspired an entire generation of writers and performers. Trust me, both the casual fan and the "sleep on the sidewalk for tickets" fan is going to love this book!
