Product Description
What happened to the boy who suddenly got everything he ever wanted?

He lived happily ever after.

Terry Fator overcame many odds—an abusive father, a peripatetic and isolated childhood, and decades of struggles—before winning America's Got Talent. In one year, he went from being a struggling entertainer to appearing on Oprah, Letterman and Ellen to sold-out shows in Las Vegas and signed as the major headliner on the Strip in Las Vegas at The Mirage. This is the story of the man with the million dollar voice.

5 out of 5 stars One of the best autobiographies Ive ever read   January 8, 2009
Thomas A. Zulli (NY, USA)
Ive been a huge fan of Terry Fator since he first stepped on the America's Got Talent stage. Since then I watch videos of his performance almost on a regular basis, as well as seeing him perform live. So I was excited to hear his autobiography was coming out, so the first chance I got I bought it and I couldnt put it down. It was a real page turned. It made me appreciate my dad a whole lot more because of what Terry Fator went through growing up.

Its was incredible learning what went through his head before, during and after AGT. He also explains how he got most of his puppets and the inspirations for their characters. Im thinking of sometime in the near future read the book again. Its one of those books that you want to read again and recondment which I do. Even if you arent a fan of his, you got to read this book because its to me one of the greatest autobiographies Ive ever read.

5 out of 5 stars What a story!   January 7, 2009
B. Pierce (Colorado)
When I saw Terry Fator on America's Got Talent, I thought he was an extremely talented man and loved his performances. But after reading this book, I have more admiration for him than words can express. What he endured and overcame and how hard he worked to get where he is, is beyond imagination. The book is written in a way that I almost felt he was sitting in my livingroom telling me his story. And when I finished it, I nearly believed we were friends, and I was SO proud of him.

5 out of 5 stars Not written by a Dummy!   January 6, 2009
Barb Rogers (Brooks, KY United States)
Do not pick up this book unless you have the time to finish it. You will not be able to put it down. We watched this man on America's Got Talent and were overwhelmed with his voice and talent. Having a son in performance, we have learned a great deal about voice ranges and BOY has this guy got a huge range. He goes from Kermit the Frog to Louis Armstrong in the blink of an eye. He writes the best material and will keep you laughing. After reading his life story, we fell in love with him. We went to see him and he was so 'down to earth'. I have heard the old addage 'don't get above your raisin'" for years, Terry, although now a self made millionnaire is just like the boy in this book: warm, loving and humble. He took time to visit with us and personalize our book. It was our 10th anniversary and he made it a marvelous night. He speaks with you as if you are the only one at the performance. His love for his wife and sister are so obvious in the book and while speaking with him in person. If you are looking for a book to learn to be a vent-this is not it, but if you want a lesson in human nature read on. As a little guy, Terry Who's the Dummy Now?: Winner of America's Got Talent went through a great deal growing up and he is finally getting the rewards he so justly deserves. It is a great read, it is like sitting down with a good friend and having a cup of coffee and talking. The book is just like Terry, simple, loveable and AWESOME! Read on...........

5 out of 5 stars The truth of "overnight" success   December 28, 2008

We recently saw Terry perform live and I was so enchanted I wanted to learn more. This book is like sitting down with a friend and having him tell you his story. What it made me most appreciate is that, even when you see someone win a show like America's Got Talent, there are years and years of hardwork behind that "overnight" success. I hope that Terry and his family will continue to be "normal" people. And I can't wait to see him in Vegas! It is worth every penny that a ticket might cost.
