Product Description Jonathan and Michael met in Navy boot camp last year, fell in love and consummated their love while home on leave. Their families accepted their lifestyle, and everyone who reads this sequel will want to be part of these loving families. Jonathan was discharged from the military last year to head his father's business after his father's death. They continue their lives together in this erotic sequel while fixing up their three-story beachfront home in Seaside Heights. One of Michael's associates is brutally murdered outside the Naval Air Station. Michael and Jonathan do some sleuthing on their own to find his killer. Danger is closer than they realize. Theresa, pregnant with Jonathan's baby, promises to give Jonathan full custody of the child when it is born for a monetary settlement. Michael is being groomed to make his debut at the Metro-Tri-State Opera as Marcello in La Boheme on September 11, 1961. "Anthony Zatti has a talent for creating engaging characters and relationships. I enjoyed CAMPING IN THE BACKYARD." -Ben Tyler, author of TRICKS OF THE TRADE and HUNK HOUSE

Very good but misplaced realities August 23, 2008 dkmcd (Dearborn, MI USA) This book and its prequel, Camping in the Backyard:Home on Leave, are both very good novels but the author suffers from some misplaced realities. He takes gay realities of the 2000s (hate crimes, open dsiplays of affection both in public and in front of family, "don't ask-don't tell" (hinted at but not directly mentioned), etc... and places them in a story set in the early 1960s. If the author had set the story in present day, he would have had a much better novel.
Those reveiwers complaining about the editing problems should put less blame on the author and realize this is a common problem with the publisher, IUniverse.
Authentic and heartwarming July 26, 2005 Lawrence D. Clepper (Jackson Heights, NY USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This book and the earlier title by Tony Zatti remind me that even in the days before Stonewall there were wonderful people that understood and accepted the gay life and that authentic and heartwarming gay love has always existed. The books are well written, fast moving and thrilling.
WHY WAS THIS BOOK PUBLISHED? April 12, 2005 Paul A. Minafri (Phoenix, Arizona) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Maudlin tripe...that is the best I can say about this sequel to CAMPING IN THE BACKYARD: HOME ON LEAVE. I honestly don't know why it was written, and why it was published. This book and its companion piece are supposedly written for an adult audience. TRUST ME, EVEN A PRE-PUBESCENT READER WOULD TOSS THIS BOOK AWAY. It is intellectually insulting, and a rather expensive joke on a would-be buyer.
AVOID THE FOLLOWING: Camping in the Backyard: Home on Leave and Camping in the Backyard : Going Forward
Rather than to buy books like this, we the reading public, should donate money to some legitimate Gay Writer's Workshops to improve the quality of the genre.
GREAT STORY! GREAT CHARACTERS! December 5, 2002 5 out of 7 found this review helpful
This is a very well written story about the adventures of Michael and his lover, Jonathan. The met in Navy boot camp and have had an erotic adventure since. You fall in love with the both of them and with their families, as well. What nice guys to spend time with and in such nice places. Their families and acquaintances are warm and welcoming. This is nice book to give as a Christmas gift.
A sequal that is better than the first! November 9, 2002 Kenneth Clark (Albuquerque, NM United States) 7 out of 9 found this review helpful
