Product Description
What if everything in your life was out of your hands and those around you propelled your fate? Your girlfriend left you for your best friend; your boss gave your job to someone better. What if then, after all this, someone gave you back total control? What if he revealed you were the next in line to join a secret society of super-villains that controlled the entire planet? Mark Millar and J.G. Jones provide a look at one man who goes from being the world's biggest loser to the deadliest assassin alive.

5 out of 5 stars Wanted   November 7, 2008
Fred Mendoza (Chicago)
Great! I couldn't put it down and read it in one sitting. I actually saw the movie first and though I liked the movie a lot, didn't think it did this comic justice.

The art was awesome, the story first rate, and the characters are likable. They developed well in the story and I felt if I had been offered what he had, I would have done the exact same things.

I think that's the mark of good character development, where you almost want to put yourself in his place. This gets all A's in my book.

4 out of 5 stars Better than the feature film   November 6, 2008
D. Abustan
Fair warning: this comic is quite a bit more graphic and major elements were changed for the motion picture.

This is a fine example of the book being better than the movie for 3 reasons. First off,the story delves way deeper into the comic book world. Unlike the film, there are several allusions to superheroes (including Superman) in this book. Second, the casting is way better - they use Eminem and Halle Berry lookalikes for the main characters and I must say I wish they were in the movie instead. Lastly, the writing is gritty, obscene at times, and passionate.

3 out of 5 stars An Epanded What If?   October 22, 2008
ATO220 (Warminster, PA United States)
Wanted is a story about of a world without super heroes told through Wesley Gibson tinted glasses. In essence, this is a What If? told over six books. I enjoyed this book so much more than the Movie, which is why I bought the book in the first place.

I am a firm in the belief that no medium should ever insult its audience, and *SPOILER ALERT* that is exactly what the last few panels of this book do. I understand the reasons and usefulness, much like the rest of this book, it is dificult to swallow. I found some plot holes inexcsuable, like what was the point of introducing cape, it never becomes an element of the plot.

I do not read the Ultimates regularaly but I did appreciate Millar's departure from that writing style. If I had to make a final recomendation I would say read this if you're interested in a book that departs from the normal Super Hero book, use this as a palate cleanser to delve deep into the darker side of comics.

5 out of 5 stars Not for the Meek   September 24, 2008

After having this referred by a few friends I decided to pick it up but was surprised at some of the negative reviews but decided to check it out anyway and to be honest, I was glad I did. The story is original and completely off-the-freaking-wall with a diverse cast of characters (one character is made entirely out of human crap). Now I will admit, the comic is juvenile and pretty perverse but if you just sit back and take the comic without a bit of seriousness, it's a good time. But if you can't handle a lot of cussing, perverse jokes and the such, then don't read this comic. But if you like a story with completely B.A. characters who don't take crap from anyone and can shoot off a come-back as fast as they kill people in it, then it'll be a good time.
