Product Description Darkforce Games proudly presents to you the new standard for gaming, a full and comprehensive guidebook to the Realm. No longer will you need to buy armloads of supplements to find the character class you only partially agree with. In the Nether-World you will create your own. You will create your weapons. You will create your armor. You can create all of your equipment, your class, your race, your pets, your vehicles and anything else you desire using our amazingly flexible creation system. And unlike other flexible gaming systems you can be sure our rules will insure that all character types will balance out and will not have any godlike twinks. -Role-play in the dark Realm, the alternate dimension to our very Earth where one's worst nightmares can suddenly come to life in a moment. Create characters that were born on the Realm, from other parts of the galaxy or even from other times. Even make a character that was drawn in from Earth! -Completely open-ended and customizable character creation lets you use the rules to design and bring to life the character of your dreams and limited only by your own imagination -Three sets of rules, one for beginners, one for intermediate and extra advanced rules for the Nether-World Expert -Classless system gives the player the ability to make any type of character from any background. This means a character can be a user of one of many different kinds of magick, a robot, a mutant, a power-armor suit or robot pilot, a special weapons expert, one of many sample character concepts or literally anything your mind can think of... There will never be two characters alike!!! -Over 90 skills and many of them customizable to different situations, the dynamic skill system rewards players for using their favorite skills through trial and error. -A customizable character creation system as opposed to a level based one lets the player have full control on how their character will mature even to the point where one can customize their own fighting style! -Use the rules to create weapons, armor, vehicles, power-armor, robots, magickal spells and much, much more! -An infinite number of spells to create and learn with our flexible system with nine different schools of magickal training from Sorcery to Alchemy! This means that the world is not full of wizards that all have the same spells, our magick system is balanced enough that a wizard is a viable character concept for a single player and does not outbalance a party if travelling with others! -We also have a complete psionics section that is much more static than the unpredictable and limitless winds of magick, though we have many different powers for one to choose, customize and master.

The Nether-Regions of perfection August 14, 2000 Hobbes Holiday P.h.d. 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Nether-World is a book for more than just role-players. It details the pathos of a less-fortunate earth, and makes all too understandable the apathetic and corroded society thereon. The artwork in this book is perfectly suited to its core of moral decay, and brings an eerie life to the pages. As far as roleplaying goes, there is no better system available for personal preference in making characters or designing quests and campaigns. The system is sensible and easy to learn, and provides an outlet for anyone's tastes. I highly recommend this book to new roleplayers along with the old pros.
