Product Description Dragon Ball: The Complete Illustrations A seminal series from a legendary creator. Dragon Ball, a wry update on the Chinese "Monkey King" myth, introduces us to Son Goku, a young monkey-tailed boy whose quiet life is turned upside-down when he meets Bulma, a girl determined to collect the seven "Dragon Balls." If she gathers them all, an incredibly powerful dragon will appear and grant her one wish. But the precious orbs are scattered all over the world, and to get them she needs the help of a certain super-strong boy...

Brings back good old memories November 24, 2008 Parka (Singapore) Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R1DU9R9FDMAWLM This is a hardcover book with a dust jacket. It contains almost 200 pages of full colour illustrations.
Right at the front is a multi-fold page that unfolds into a small Dragon Ball poster with a thank you note from Akira Toriyama.
Following on are illustrations from the weekly JUMP title covers as well as comic covers. Each is fully coloured and reproduced big. It really brings back memories of reading the comic, as well as anticipating weekly at the comic book store.
It's really great again to marvel at the uniform ink strokes and character designs of Akira Toriyama.
Every piece of work is annotated at the back of the book. Included is also the very unique sequential spine art for the comic, which at that time I thought was really cool. There are also mugshots of Akira Toriyama over the years, including photos and icons.
An interview with Akira Toriyama is also included to give this book some depth.
There's really nothing not to like about this book if you're a Dragon Ball fan.
There are more pictures of the book on my blog. Just visit my Amazon profile for the link.
Very Authentic October 3, 2008 Devin Flake (Utah) If your a true fan of Dragon Ball you'll love this book. Its a lot of fun to look back over all the original pictures of the series and see how it evolved. Akira Toriyama is an excellent artist with a unique style. The only thing that could have been better would have been to include a cd-rom with the book that included all the original pictures digitally scanned. A print book is great but I have to pull it off my shelf every time I want to look at the pictures but that shouldn't dissuade you from buying this book, you'll love it!
Fantastic September 24, 2008 Damien Alexander (Australia) This book is a must for any DB / DBZ / Toriyama fan and is a bargain at the price. This reinvigorated my lust for all things DBZ. Definately worth the dosh. Lets hope they do the rest.
Great Dragonball Artbook! August 15, 2008 Mr. Raki (UsA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
For those that don't know, this is a huge manga artbook that contains hundreds of drawings from the manga "Dragon Ball"(split into two parts Dragonball and Dragonball Z by Viz in America). This book is a great value because it has accurate translations and unedited drawings, the way Toriyama intended it to be. I would like to thank Viz for doing a great job with this release, and I hope they release the other 6 main Daizenshuu from Japan.
So if you are a casual DB(Z) fan looking to add to your manga collection, or the most insane Dragonball collector, this release is for you. The artwork is top notch, and has something for Dragonball fans of all ages. 5 Stars, and great job by Viz!!!!
