Product Description The time for reconnaissance, planning, and waiting is over! Rin and Doa, desperate to be reunited with their friends (or even reassured that they're alive), take their first bold steps in penetrating Edo Castle's defenses and foiling Kagimura's foul "immortality" experiments! A trip to an old doctor, a chance encounter with a high-strung peasant, and an appearance by a strange, all-new Itto-ryu warrior combine to make this volume an important series of encounters in persistent Rin's quest to find Manji and Isaku-and in her own growth as a warrior! The "Badger Hole" is a dank passageway that leads to an underground tunnel system beneath Edo Castle. With some new skills and tricks, these two young ladies brave darkness and the promise of death to run headlong towards Kagimura's cruel prisons, where Manji hangs drugged and helpless!

A few questions. November 19, 2008 CC (PA) What does Hyakurin's unborn child signify for Giichi? How's Rin's babysitting of the uncontrollable Doa coming along? Who's this strikingly handsome/lively/perverse nobleman Sakura? Ozuhan, is he the deadliest/funniest warrior ever to grace this series?
The answer to the last one is yes.
ps- this book is the shortest of the series, as Dark Horse discontinued the monthly comic with this book's last chapter. But to make up for it, the next book is to be overly long.
Awsome story and amazing art September 11, 2008 James William Ollis Blade of the immortal is truly a classic. (spoiler warning ) The medical experiments that were being conducted on manji in the previous volumes were a pretty interesting device of the story. Pretty much fudal japan trying to weaponiz immortality, then there was the whole hint to the advancement of medical sciences being based on what the average person would consider horrific experiments. The mental conflict of the doctor was brief but still present naging subtly at his sense of rightiousness, going against traditional medical practices of the time he chose to perform horrors and kill hundreds in the present to possibly gain knowledge to save thosands more in the futer. The characters of the series are beutifully flawed. A must read series for sure.
The ongoing tale of Rin and her body guard. July 29, 2008 Elizabeth A. Yo (denver) A good next episodes, but felt the book was a little thin (some of the other volumes are much thicker). THe artwork continues to be excellent.
