Product Description The most riveting novel yet in Christopher Reich’s New York Times bestselling series—featuring Dr. Jonathan Ransom and his undercover-agent wife Emma, a dangerous woman with a mysterious past who has gone rogue in the high-stakes, serpentine world of international spies.
In 1980, a secret American B-52 crashes high in a remote mountain range on the Pakistan–Afghanistan border. Nearly thirty years later, and spanning locales from those peaks to New York City, a terrible truth will be revealed.
Jonathan Ransom returns as the resourceful doctor thrown into a shadowy world of double and triple agents where absolutely no one can be trusted. To stay alive, Ransom must unravel the mystery surrounding his wife—an enigmatic and lethal spy who plays by her own rules—and discover where her loyalties truly lie.
Rules of Betrayal is a masterfully plotted novel that cements Christopher Reich’s reputation as one of the most admired espionage thriller writers today.
From the Hardcover edition.

Clearly the best in the series September 3, 2010 Timothy J. Kindler (Rochester, NY) Having read and enjoyed the first two installments in the series featuring Dr Jonathan Ransom and his wife Emma, I was hoping for more of the same with Rules of Betrayal. I was not disappointed. In fact, I feel that this latest work is clearly the best of the three. Perhaps it is the buildup of the characters and the story lines over the course of the books that helps make Rules of Betrayal stand out as being better than its predecessors. Whatever the cause, this book was a compelling, action-packed thriller. It definitely caused me some lost sleep as I stayed up later than I should have on a number of nights so that I could read a couple more chapters. Although I suppose this book could stand on its own, I strongly suggest that a reader work through this series in order. The references to and understanding of prior events, along with the character development built across the two prior books add great depth and intensity to this book.
It's the bad guys!! September 3, 2010 Anthony G. Nagle What I liked best about this third offering about Emma and John Ransom is the quality of the bad guys that these two super spies have to track down and then defeat, especially Abdul Haq who attempts to explode a dirty bomb in NYC. (The real Abdul Haq was a double agent for the CIA and was killed by Osama bin Laden in 2002). There is something wrong with John Ransom, the main character. If he had a lick of sense he'd walk away from Emma and forget her, but I suppose it's this flaw that makes the story interesting. A good read despite the fact that the reader has to suspend reality a bit more than normal.
OUTSTANDING!!!!! FANTASTIC!!!!! September 2, 2010 JustAForeignReader (Major Earthquake Faultline) after the continued letdowns by lee child and vince flynn, christopher reich's "RULES" series saved me from a nearly total loss of this genre. c.r. indeed got lot of new ideas to contribute to the readers. the writing is so smooth without any shortcomings of lee child's msg-like pretentiousness and vince flynn's boring hollowness. keep it coming, mr. reich, can't hardly wait for the forth one!
