5 out of 5 stars Do NOT buy this book...   July 27, 2010
Gary
...unless you are prepared to get out of your comfort zone and actually do something which will differentiate you from the thousands of other people sitting in front of their computer fooling themselves that sending out "me too" resumes will ultimately land them "that" dream job.

For me, the most uncomfortable exercise was designing my first Guerrilla Resume. I am an executive with 15+ years of experience at the President and CEO level and the resume I had maintained all along looked like every other resume I saw when I did a resume search online. When I bought this book I was determined to do whatever it took to improve my odds. I still have a lot of career ahead of me!

Having created a Guerrilla Resume I felt a little uncertain about using it. After all, could I really wear a bright tie when all the rest were wearing dark ties? I shared the resume with one of my executive search friends and he was actually blown away with the fresh look and thinking he immediately saw.

I have now grown even more confident and produced an eXtreme Guerrilla Resume, an amazing 1-page document that is far more powerful at getting my point across than the standard resume. I can't wait to continue marketing myself with my new found confidence.

5 out of 5 stars A great resource   July 25, 2010

This book is fantastic - you can use it as a step-by-step guide, or as a reference to target any weak spots in your job hunting (online presence, resumes, etc). Highly recommended!

5 out of 5 stars A book that helps you stand out among the job seeking crowd   July 25, 2010

Its been about 8 years since I've had to look for a job, and because of a lay off I found myself back in the jungle. My God, the job market has changed since then. I had applied to many many jobs, and the only type of interviews I got were from employers who wanted me to work completely on commission, or it involved a few thousand dollars in licensing fees. And these offers were from employers who contacted me! Sadly, how do you navigate yourself from all that junk???
What amazed me was that the author David Perry gave me insight on what a potential employer or head hunter is looking for. And he guided me on how to re-write my resume and cover letter according to their eyes and not my own. He also teaches you how to market yourself online so that these potential employers and headhunters can find you. That in of itself is handy to keep the job searching momentum going when your spending time applying.
Let me tell you, for every job ap you apply for, there are literally hundreds of people applying for the same position. You need something to help you stand out. And this book does it. If you want to be standard, than this book isn't for you. If you want to get the job of your dreams, than let David Perry show you how. He did it for me. Oh and P.S. A lot of self help books out there, when you finish reading the book, the help stops there. Not this one. At the back of the book, the author provides links to his website for various support on different stages of your job process. Incredible. That's all I can say. David Perry continues to support you with even more amazing insightful information than even previously found in the book. Is the book worth its price? More so. For those job seekers who have contemplated hiring a recruiter to help them, get this book instead. You'll save hundreds or a few thousand in fees.

I found the book very informative. I have read several books throughout this recession and this book is so much more insightful and bold. I hope to be successful in using these tactics.

5 out of 5 stars I spent thousands and still didn't get the help I got from Guerrilla Marketing for Job Hunters 2.0   July 23, 2010
D. Forrester (Atlanta, GA)
I spent thousands with a guy who promised to be able to unlock a hidden job market. The ideas were tired and not at all in line with current technology. Then I bought Guerrilla Marketing for Job Hunters 2.0. This one book truly covers all the bases. It requires diligence (and a dose of self-confidence) to put it all these recommendations into practice, but I'm convinced its the only way to market yourself in today's highly competitive job climate.
