| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description The Complete Sailor takes the reader from the first sail to a mastery of small-boat handling. Weaving his writing around 600 drawings by noted marine illustrator Kelly Mulford, David Seidman has created a book in which each double-page spread invites the eye and communicates volumes of information. The Complete Sailor goes beyond other learn-to-sail books to cover navigation, boat design, and seamanship. Encyclopedic in scope yet warm in style, it conveys the magic as well as the techniques of sailing. Among the other topics covered: anchoring, ropework, rigging, weather, fog, squalls, currents and tides, rules of the road, trailering, and working the winds. The book is a gentle introduction for those just starting out, and a guide to new horizons for those who already sail.

ONE OF THE VERY BEST November 5, 2008 Kenneth L. Magee (Fire Base Tillman- Afghanistan) I OWN LOTS OF BOOKS ON THE SUBJECT. THIS ONE IS BY FAR THE MOST READABLE WITH OUTSTANDIGN DIAGRAMS. WORTH EVERY PENNY.
A very special book - Required reading October 11, 2008 G. Tillson (Maui, Hawaii USA) If I were told I could keep only one sailing reference book, I would choose "The Complete Sailor". The style and layout of every page is a work of art. This book was clearly crafted with love. Virtually every important topic relating to sailing is covered with great clarity. The illustrations help the reader understand the concepts. Absolutely the best!
The Complete Sailor: Learning the Art of Sailing September 21, 2008 Clifford Hudson (Malaysia) This is the book I needed to learn sailing. Clear and well written. Ample pictures and simple explanations. Learning the Language of sailing was very well prepared in this book.
Great Beginner August 27, 2008 Sergio Bustillo (Nashville,TN USA) This was a great book; it has lots of information for a beginner. I like the illustrations a lot, one of my favorite chapters that usually is not covert in other books was the "Rules of the Road" Great book!!
Awesome book July 6, 2008 A. Roberts (Baltimore, MD) As a non-sailor just getting into the world of sailing, I've found this book extremely helpful and easy to digest. The explanations are accompanied by beautiful drawings, which helps explain topics such as wind direction. My boyfriend, who is a competitive sailor, says that the book is very accurate and explains important topics well. We both give this book five stars.
